Miami Sports Academy names Kevin Waters as Athletic Director

Miami Sports Academy is happy to announce Kevin Waters as the Athletic Director. Kevin Waters comes with an illustrious background career in athletics.

• 2017-2020 Waters was the Associate Athletic Director/ Head Men's and Cross-Country Coach. During his tenor at Wilberforce, he led the Men's basketball program to their first post-season National Championship by winning the Christian College National Invitational Tournament in 2018.
• 2010 -2016, Waters was the General Manager/ Head Basketball Coach for the Jacksonville Giants who are part of the American Basketball Association (ABA). During his tenor, he accomplished several professional accomplishments such as, 3-time National ABA Champions, Named Coach of the year for three consecutive years, select four years in a row as the Coach Basketball coach for the east All-star ABA team, as well as currently holding the record of most points scored in a single game (222 pts), which was documented by Sports Illustrated.
• 2008, Waters started the Jacksonville Bluewave's in the World Basketball Association (WBA). The Bluewave's carried an undefeated record before being recognized by the Commissioner of the ABA, Joe Newman.
• 2003 – 2005, Waters worked at Kennesaw State University as a Special Assistant to the Men's Basketball team. Here, Kennesaw won the NCAA Division II National Championship.
• 2001 – 2003, Waters began his college coaching career at Edward Waters College as the assistant coach to the men's basketball team, where they ended up in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Championship tournament,
